Excellent school. As a SC Artist-in-residence, it is my job to travel to schools throughout South Carolina. This is one of the best I have been to in our state. Student behavior was excellent. Teacher were involved with my programs and administration clearly supported its teachers. Would love to have the opportunity to work with this school again.
I used to go to beech hill and I loved it
Commmunication between the teachers and parents don't exist, unless the child is in GATE. After a full year and a start of another year with poor communication things haven't changed, will update as year go on. Good old boy system here and Mrs. Harris is fully aware.
My son is now in the gifted program and is loving school. His confidence is back, and he is back to his old self.
When we arrived at Beech Hill from Pennsylvania, my oldest child was reading 2.5 grade levels below where he should have been. He was angry over the move. Coupled with a loss in confidence largely due to his lack of success in reading, we had a recipe for disaster. In one year, Beech Hill's team of administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, and reading specialists, got my son reading 1.5 grade levels above his present grade and helped him deal with his anger issues. There was a lot of work going on at home with him as well, but we would not have been as successful without the professional team at Beech Hill.
